New Crop in tournament debut

The 6th of June saw the start to new U6's soccer burnley league, which began with a Euro style knock out competition for the 6 teams in the new summer league, which takes place over the next 10 weeks.

Pendle Forest U6's fielded one team of eight children who have been trained by Andy Webb over the past two years. The newly installed manger of the team Darren Horner took the team to the competition for the evening.

The team started extremely well in their first match against Sycamore United with goals coming from all angles by virtually all members of the teams including the half time subs, there was also some good saves made by the teams keeper for the match.

Game two saw Pendle Forest line up against Barrowford Orange, from the start of the match Pendle forest took charge of the game and soon goals were again raining in from all angles, half time saw subs come on for Pendle Forest, who made an immediate impact with more goals and assists. The match ended with another good score line and a group win.

The final for first place saw Pendle Forest drawn against Barrowford blacks, the game started evenly matched with convincing attempts by both teams, eventually the Pendle Forest lads got into their stride showing great defending and fire power.Credit to the Barrowford lads they battled on to the very end. It was a really fun, friendly tournament

The match stats showed that across three games the Pendle Forest lads only conceded 3 goals but scored 26 against the opposition. Special thanks to the four keepers of the evening Conner, Fletcher, Finlay and Will Jepson well done! And well done to the rest of the team.
